Kuåsen

Cabin area in Ringsakerfjellet near Sjusjøen

Kuåsen is a quiet cabin area in Ringsakerfjellet, close to Sjusjøen. The area offers easily accessible nature with forest areas, mountain trails, and excellent hiking opportunities both summer and winter. Most of the cabins along the road were built in the 1950s, and later a newer section was developed toward Gjestbodsåsen. Here you’ll find cabins with electricity and water taps, providing good comfort in traditional mountain surroundings.

This is also where you’ll find the well-known Luddenhytta, where Ludvik Olestadengen lived for 40 years until 1955. The cabin is open so everyone can go inside and experience how Ludden lived.
From here, a new hiking trail has been established toward Gjestbodsåsen and Midtfjellkoia, designed to be accessible to everyone.

Kuåsen is a popular starting point for cycling, hiking, and cross-country skiing, and the short distance to Kroksjøen and Sjusjøen makes the area attractive for outdoor activities and recreation. The peaceful atmosphere and proximity to nature give Kuåsen a distinctive character that makes it a sought-after destination for cabin owners and visitors.
