Use of caravans, motorhomes and tents in the Ringsaker Mountain Roads area.
Camping in Ringsaker Mountain
At Bergsbuvollen, Olshølen, Åkerseter, Aksjøstrømmen, Skvaldravollen, and Øvre Åstbru, facilities are available for camping in Ringsaker Mountain. Here you can park your motorhome, caravan, or pitch a tent.
- The pitches are marked with signs. It is not permitted to place wheeled camping units outside these designated areas. Incorrectly placed caravans/vehicles will be requested to be removed or will be removed at the owner’s expense.
- Caravans/motorhomes must not be placed closer than 15 m to water/rivers.
- Caravans not in use cannot be left behind. This means that a caravan cannot remain uninhabited from one weekend to the next. It is also not permitted to drive up the caravan a few days in advance to secure a spot. Violations of this provision will be reported in accordance with the Outdoor Recreation Act § 9.
- Good order must be maintained in the pitches and surroundings. Waste is handled in accordance with municipal regulations for Ringsakerfjellet. This means source sorting and delivery to recycling points.
- It is forbidden to light fires in forests and fields between April 15 and September 15.
Long-term placement
At Øvre Åstbru, Åkerseter, and Aksjøstrømmen, it is permitted to place caravans for the entire season. Pallets and building elements used with the caravans must be removed along with them at the end of the season.
Location
The pitches in Åstdalen are beautifully located along the Åsta river, with excellent fishing opportunities and great hiking areas. Bergsbuvollen is located south of Bergsbudammen, along the Ljøsåa.
